So, before you use a new hashtag, be sure to check it hasn’t been banned.
Although it can be a tad time-consuming, it’s certainly worthwhile to switch up the hashtags you are using. Going back to what I mentioned earlier, copying and pasting the same hashtags on every post can easily be deemed as spammy activity. Take a moment to research the best ones to use for the image in question. While we’re here, a good tip is to include a variety of popular, mid-level and niche hashtags as this can really help increase your exposure.
Before you freak out and delete Hootsuite, Buffer and the rest of them, you only need to worry about the third-party apps that DON’T comply with Instagram’s rules. We’re talking about the apps where you can pay for likes, followers and so-called ‘insights’. If you’ve got one or more of these on the go then our advice would be to log out, delete them and don’t look back! The best Instagram posts are ones that are authentic – oftentimes, these are the pictures taken and posted there and then. But we get it: life gets in the way and sometimes you need the help of scheduling software. And that’s absolutely fine! Just make sure you read up on the app or software you’re looking into before creating an account or parting with any money.
